“Hoo” Haven Presentation

Featured

Bertolet Memorial Library welcomes presenters and animals from “Hoo” Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Durand.  Children and adults alike will learn about some of the animals that are rescued and how they are nursed back to health and prepared to return to their natural habitats.  The presenters will be bringing an owl, a red-tailed hawk, and a tortoise to see and learn about.

In conjunction with this event, the library is collecting supplies for “Hoo” Haven through May 14th. Because the organization is not government funded, they rely entirely on donations and volunteers to rehabilitate the animals. Donations may be brought to the library in advance of the program or on May 14th.  Check out their wish list on their website or pick up a copy at the library.  Monetary donations are also appreciated and are used for special food, medicine, and other items for the animals.

Pack the Pantry

Featured

Unexpired food and pantry items will be accepted during February to benefit the New Life Community Center in Forreston.  As we are now a fine-free library, there is no longer a need for “Food for Fines.” Even though it’s no longer necessary to bring in donations to erase fines, we hope you will still consider donating to help local families in need.
